My Second Interview

Hey guys!

I’ve just got back home after my second interview up (or possible down depending on which way round you look at the map) in Nottingham!

It was absolutely fantastic! I had a great time and the young people I was interviewing were amazing. They were incredibly motivated themselves and would start probing each other through intense debates around certain questions. I had two interviews in Nottingham and about three quarters of the way through my first interview everyone seemed to have fallen asleep on the table (oh dear). I made a quick decision that unless I got them to do something active there would be no point in asking the remaining questions. So, I got them to all stand up and run around the table. When ever I shouted stop the person standing behind my chair had to answer the question. This worked amazingly well and they were all concentrating on the interview right until the very end!

After the formal situation with both groups we took everyone out into Sherwood Forest. We went pond dipping and shelter building which was fantastic! I remember Ciara getting increasingly worried about the pond dipping since she thought she was going to have to dip her head into the pond not her net! The shelter building was the best activity and I especially enjoyed throwing cups of water over the shelters with everyone inside to see if they were water proof.

After the experience I felt privileged to have met such extraordinary young people with so much to say.
