What do you think about the internet?

The Government has asked Dr Tanya Byron, a clinical psychologist, to investigate how children and young people use new technology (including the internet and video games) and the effect it has on them. When the investigation is over, Dr Byron will be giving the Government advice about how to make sure all children and young people can be kept safe but still have the chance to enjoy and benefit from new technology.

Dr Byron wants to find out what children and young people have to say about the internet and video games. Some of the questions she is asking are:

  • What are the good things about the internet and video games?
  • Do you think there are dangers or risks in using the internet or playing video games?
  • Do your parents, carers or teachers have rules about you using the internet?
  • What more can be done to keep children and young people safe online?
