Optional Protocols

The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child has two Optional Protocols. These are new rules that are added to human rights treaties that governments can decide if they want to agree to.

The Optional Protocols of the UNCRC give additional rights to children who are involved in armed conflict, and children who have been sold or used in child pornography or prostitution.
