My Plans for the Project!
Hiya! My first blog!
About me!
I live in the West Midlands. I am 16; just finishing year 11 and then I will be carrying on to do my A-levels in year 12/13.
I love my School (well most the time! Lol) everybody is so supportive of all its students, there is roughly over 2ooo students there, yeah it’s big!
I am very committed to everything I do, especially if it involves/benefits young people.
I am part of lots of groups and forums locally, regionally and nationally to help as many young people as we can. I am involved in UKYP, CRAE , Connexions and I am a Millennium Volunteer. I also sit on our local youth forum, police advisory board, youth political group and council advisory body.
WOW!!! This list is so long, I have never written about what I do before! Lol so it seems kind of weird to actually pinpoint what I do.
So what’s been going on?
Well the wonderful website has gone live! Well done to all the people involved in making it, you have done a fantastic job!
This means our work as champions officially starts now!
Recently I have done several assemblies at my School, to ask the students for their help and support with the project and to explain to them what the CRAE is, I am very pleased to say these went well and the whole School is behind the project.
At the last UKYP meeting I spoke to the group about CRAE and this new project, mainly to encourage them to get involved with the UKYP poll (sorry but is only open to ukyp members) and to ask as many other young people as possible to fill out a questionnaire I have made, to see how much people know from across Staffordshire.
I am currently writing several different lesson plans for all of my Schools citizenships lessons, so that everybody (teachers + students) get the chance to learn a lot more the rights of Young people, these lesson plans should be ready for class use in about 2weeks time!
At my School we have each year group sports day held at the sports Stadium nearby, here I will be going around every tutor group in every year group, (a lot of people!!), talking about the CRAE and Get ready for change!, also to ask the tutors to get the tutor groups when back in School to fill out a questionnaire.
Also I am writing a press release, well it is finished but I going to wait until the School has got all the posters (part of lesson plans) up in most class rooms and hopefully get some pictures of a few tutor groups actually carrying out the lesson plans, so we can make a bigger emphasis on how important the Children Rights and CRAE are.
If the lesson plans and questionnaires go down well at my School then hopefully I will be going around to other local schools to get them involved, so that I can make my main aim reality, every School in the county participating.
Well I’ll keep you updated as much as I can.
Everybody please keep up all the great work, promote CRAE and Get ready for change!.
