Ten top tips

Here are 10 top tips for taking action on children’s rights:

Take a stand on the things that matter to you.

Start small. Work out what children’s rights mean for you, and for children and young people where you live.

Know what you want to change and why.

Find adults who can help you speak out and make a difference.

Find out who the champions are for children’s rights where you live. Get them on your side!

Spread the word about children’s rights and your campaign. No-one can support you if they don’t know what you’re doing!

Find out which journalists write about children and young people, and ask them to write an article about what you’re doing to improve children’s rights in your community.

Get other children and young people involved.

Ask CRAE for advice on campaigning and children’s rights if you need it. We’re happy to help.

Don’t give up! Making real change can take time.
