First interview

It was on the 22nd of October, but this is the first chance I’ve had to post a blog due to some computer problems. I did two interviews on the day, one with 16-18 year olds and the other with young parents. The interviews were very informative and certainly eye opening, but also fairly sad, especially the young parents. I was and am still worried by how little support they recieve from the Government. Another surprise was that the 16-18 year olds agreed with the UN’s statement that the Government isn’t doing enough for their age group in terms of looking after mental health. On top of that, they brought it up before I read out the targets that the UN committee gave the Government. It was a great experience, but going by the other blogs, not as light-hearted as some of the other interviews. It made me realise that children’s rights is a much more serious issue than I thought at first.
