Meet the campaigners

Our campaigners spread the word about human rights, get other children and young people involved in Get ready for change!, and push for change in children’s rights.

Meet the campaigners:

Dom

Dom Joining the Geneva project means that I can have the chance to make a greater difference for young people, as well as fighting for their rights. I’m also member of the UK Youth Parliament which means that I am really interested in matters that are faced by young people.

Dominic

Dominic I am involved in this project because I feel very strongly that young people’s views shouldn’t be acknowledged any differently from other groups in society. Society is getting a lot better at expressing the views of minority groups but it is very seldom that young people are considered to be a minority group in their own right. Young people need to be empowered to make a real difference in decision making. It is important that young people and adults understand the need for young people to be able to express their views. They also need to be aware of their rights and understand the fact that they also have responsibilities.

Kathryn

Kathryn's avatar I wanted to be involved in Get ready for Geneva so that I could find out more about children’s rights as well as raising awareness about the difficult lives that some children lead. I hope to make a difference to children without education, freedom and all the other rights some children don’t have. I am sure the project will be a great success.

Kirrun

Kirrun Hi, I’m Kirrun! I heard about Get ready for Geneva through the CRAE’s young peoples' panel and it sounded very interesting. Also, I think this will be a fantastic opportunity to try and improve lives for young people in the UK, so I decided to get involved.

Laura

Laura's avatar I got involved with CRAE, by chance and it is the best thing that could have ever happened! Children's Rights are really important to all young people... That is why i believe being part of such an amazing group we can make change happen to help young people across the UK...
