Meet the campaigners

During school time, my citizenship teacher, asked me to get involved with the ‘Get Ready For Geneva’ scheme, as she thought I would be interested. Then in the post I received a letter saying I had not got through, but their was asked if I wanted to take part with the website development team and I quickly got in touch as I really wanted to do this. After emailing many times I got to be on the website development team.

I want to be involved in the project to make a difference to young people’s rights and get the government to reinforce their promises to young people. To make sure young people’s rights are publicised and known by everyone. It's really important that young people are heard and listened to as we are the future.

I got involved with Get ready for Geneva because I thought it would be a great opportunity to work with new people. I wanted to make new friends at the same time. I am very glad that I got chosen to take part in the project.

I wanted to be part this project as it helps young adults from across the UK. I believed that CRAE would make a difference through its work and I jumped at the chance of helping. I think this would be a good opportunity to learn more about young adults and children’s views on our society today.

I chose to be a children’s rights investigator because when I found out about it, it seemed like a good idea as I am interested in children’s rights and already am a peer supporter looking after a group of children. Coming together to share our work will be fascinating.

I wanted to join the Children’s Rights Alliance because I like to try new things and I enjoy out of school activities that are different. I have a strong opinion and I like to debate on any subject. My other out of school activity is scouts which I enjoy.

I am involved with the Children's Rights Alliance to learn more about children's rights and to do something for children in my borough and around the world. I also want to find out about things going wrong for children around the whole world and try and fix them.

I have done quite a few things for children and there rights before, but they were not very active. When I got delivered the application form in the post, I jumped to the opportunity. Wow, a chance to do something! The more I work towards this project or hear about it, the more excited I am. I can’t wait for the future.

The reason I got involved in Get ready for Geneva is I am very passionate about children and young people’s rights. I think that the UK should be doing more to promote the UN Convention on the Rights of a Child to show that children and young people do have rights. I heard about the project through my youth forum.
